This week’s design is the fun and beautiful Landyn Tahj by Pam Knighton-Haener. I really enjoyed combining my new palette colors, following Pam’s A-D designations. I love how the square turned into a diamond and back to a square, and the ingenious outer rounds. You can find Pam’s other designs on Ravelry and on her blog, A Yarn of Serendipity.

I have admired Aurora Suominen’s work for many years and am happy to feature October Love this week. This is a fun design with clean lines and is a bit of a respite from our recent more complicated blocks!  The final stitch count was a little too big for our CAL so I modified the last few rounds. I am hoping Aurora comes back later in the year with a new design!  See all her designs on Ravelry and her blog, My Blue Angels.

Modifications by Julie:  Work as written through Round 9.

Round 10:  Beg corner. Sk 1 st, dc next st (Ch 1, sk 2 st, dc, ch 1, sk 1 st, dc) seven times, work corner in sp] four times, omitting last corner & join, fastening off color 2. (19 dc, 15 ch-1 sp per side including corners)

Round 11:  With Color 1, Beg corner, [dc in next 3 st, (2 dc in ch-1 sp)14 times, dc in next 3 st, corner] four times, omitting last corner, sl, join. (38 per side)

This week’s block is an interesting adventurous block from Pam Knighton-Haener called Kinnedy Nichelle.  This block can look so different depending on color placement, and my two-color version does not do it justice!  Thank you, Pam, for a wonderful addition to our CAL! Pam can be found at her blog, A Yarn of Serendipity, and her creative designs deserve a second look.
