Easy Crochet!

U.S.Crochet Terms Size: 21” around by 8” length

Materials: Mary Maxim Prism Yarn, (100% Acrylic, 100 g/ 3.5 oz, 290 yds/ 265 m) Colors Rain Shower, Lakeside, Morning Glory, 2 skeins each, worked with 6 strands total. 6 skeins makes 5 hats.)

Crochet Hook Size P/Q (15 mm)
Gauge: 5 st and 4 rows per 4” (10 cm)

Abbreviations and Special Stitches:
BLO – Back Loop Only Ch – Chain hdc – half double-crochet PM – place marker sc – single crochet sl – slip st – stitch

Round 1: With six strands of yarn (2 strands each of Rain Shower, Lakeside, and Morning Glory), ch 2, 8 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in first hdc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in each st, sl st in first hdc. (16 hdc)
Round 3: Ch 1, (hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st) eight times, sl st in first hdc. (24 hdc).
Round 4: Ch 1, hdc in each st, sl st in first hdc. (24 hdc)
Rounds 5 – 9: Repeat Round 4. At end of Round 9, fasten off, weave in ends.

As promised, here is a new crochet hat pattern for your LAST LAST minute holiday gifting. Kelley Anne Cap an easy pattern that starts with a crochet rib brim. Stitches are picked up on the side of the beginning strip. Pattern is an easy granny type stitch with hdc and smooth decreases to the top. Slightly slouchy. I was able to change the size with a change of hook and yarn, but sizes are given for Teen through XL, and you can easily adapt to any size. Quick to make; use up your scraps!
